What is xyz:NATGAS?
xyz:NATGAS is a natural gas perpetual deployed by trade[XYZ] on Hyperliquid through HIP-3. It references one MMBtu of Henry Hub natural gas, the main US benchmark.
Natural gas is one of the most volatile commodities, driven by weather, storage reports and supply shocks. The venue caps leverage at 10x and uses isolated margin, so a position's losses stay limited to the margin you put on it.

How the price is set
Like oil, natural gas is priced from a designated futures contract that rolls monthly between the 5th and 10th business day, shifting 20% of the weight per day.
Outside those hours, including weekends, the market keeps trading 24/7 on an internal price that moves with order flow inside discovery bounds, a cap on how far the price can travel until the external market reopens.
